If you think about it... People eat pig, and keep pigs as pets. People eat horse, and keep horses (this is now a taboo like dog, but it originally was what you did with a lame or dead horse). People eat camel, and they keep them as pets. People eat birds, cows, goats,? etc. And, they keep them as pets. So, it makes perfect sense to both keep dogs and eat dog. It's perfectly within human norms. If you don't forget where the meat in the market came from.

Aw I wouldn't eat dog meat.? Growing up, my mom didn't let my brothers and I eat dog meat. We raised dogs and while living in the village, someone stole our dog and we assumed ate it.? It p**sed me off but I was too young to know where our dog went.
